We're Back - We completed the Inca Trail successfully and reached Machu Picchu on Friday 25th May 2007.

The trek was tough and training on Ben Nevis hardly seems appropriate now. The high altitude, the humididty, the length and the difficulty of each walk, and the number of walks on consecutive days, were all impossible to duplicate here in Britain. However good team work and down right pig-headedness kept us going.
I got high altitude sickness on the third day, but thankfully only three hundred metres short of the highest point, so I persevered (thanks to the local porters carrying my pack for a while) and made it safely over dead woman's pass and down the other side to safety.
The guides, porters and cooks did a fantastic job in attrocious conditions to make the trip as comfortable as possible; and the team work showed by my fellow trekkers was nothing short of world class.
